"The Savage Hill Cycling team is racing like SAVAGES!!!" That was the quote over the loudspeaker when Rish attacked the field and got a 30 second gap in one lap. This was a great showing for our team, the goal was to be aggressive and see what happens. I managed to follow the right move and we got off the front. The two ryans did a great job of blocking, we lapped, ryan got a prime, and the other ryan took off. I liked my chances because I only had to beat two other people, however, the race would slow down occasionally and the pack fill would swarm. Ryan Gamm took care of everything with two laps to go, he pulled so friggin hard for two laps it was amazing, he took me right till the last corner and all I had to do was not crash--which can be difficult. Rish did an awesome job of staying away but not lapping. All in all it was a great race for us and we got a ton of publicity from the announcer.

Crit #2 (part duex):
Downtown Raleigh again, the course was short, fast, and fun, good sized field, decent $ + Rish Gamm Hekman a little frustrated with the weekend so far = us battering the southern boyz like Carolina catfish…….Mark lapped the field with 2 other guys before they knew what hit them, I punked two guys for $100 prime so bad it wasn’t even fair, then Rish got off in a group fighting for 4th place, and this was only halfway in….So all of a sudden I had to wait for the field sprint to lead out Mark, Rish was gone so I couldn’t chase, my life really lost meaning for a little bit, I had not felt like that since they forced me to graduate from college

I led out mark as best I could from two to go, I really thought I wasn’t going hard enough, apparently the heat was playing tricks on me because when I pulled off 1) I almost hit a stop sign (I swear it jumped out from around the corner!!!!!!!) and took out the rest of the field 2) that was strung out and actually had gaps opening 3) I was in my biggest gear 4) Mark killed the field with the same authority he would a cold can of Coors Light 5) we actually almost caught the break Rish was in (DOH!) that would have sucked, apparently they were in sight, I was blind from the effort, kinda like when I was in Prague…..well different means to an end there….

The best part about the weekend was not going home Sunday night and just chilling on the Farm with Mark and his Girlfriend Carrie who was super cool and dealt with us for the whole weekend without actually killing us, which we probably had coming, anyway we had a great group, than included the cat Kissy who looked like a shark, with fur, and feet, but that’s not the point, she had the teeth, and that was scary enough

Tour of Ohio in two weeks, I cant wait, Its like spring break in college, minus the because, good weather, parties, and fun but with 9 days of racing bikes in cool places like Coshocton, and Somerset, and terrible weather, and no beach, or parties……er…ah….Oh man this is going to suck
