Two surprises here: the course was changed to only one hill and two laps.

I hadn't raced with the Heroes squad before, so I didn't know just how the group worked as a team. They really put the hammer down as a team. I asked them how they planned to make up time and they indicated on the flats. I dressed up the bike with all the heavier, aero stuff for the occasion.

We started off fast and it didn't let up except going up the hill. Brett was riding like a monster, he wanted to charge up the hill and he was taking longer pulls. It was inspiring. We passed two or three groups one of which was on their second lap.

We all stayed together and won the TTT putting all of us high in the standings. We still didn't have enough time to get the Yellow jersey.

This was a great TTT course. There was plenty of flats to work the rotation and then a hill (which you did twice) to add a little strategic twist. We decided to keep everyone over the first climb, drive the flats and then see who was riding strong for the 2nd climb.

Mitch was particularly awesome today. He blasted up the climb and then took long, fast pulls on the flats. I've never seen Mitch ride so well and I am really happy how his form has come so good for this race. Blair and Aaron also did a lot of work too. I was good for a while, but once the lactic acid built up, I was never able to recover. I ended up taking really short pulls the 2nd half until the climb where I was blown. Jay was a little better than me, but it looked like he was struggling too.

I was really happy how we worked as a team today. Considering we had never done a TTT together I think we put in a respectable time.

I don't actually know my placing since I didn't finish with our 3 finishers. If someone will correct me I will change my placing.
