I had a great time befor the race and got a lot of good advice thank you to all the women racers and Jim and Chris for that. I was very lonley during the race out there by my self. The course was cool the rolling hills were a nice touch. I hope to be out there and racing this year thanks for all the suport and thanks to all the savages that yelled at me. Peace out

You can ask a lot of questions about time trials, but there is nothing like first hand knowledge when it comes to making adjustments for improvements.

What I learned:
1. Show up early, less wind and faster guys to pace/pass you.
2. Practice with bars and position early and often- my hip and back haven’t hurt like this in years.
3. Will’s advice (second hand) don’t go out too fast- easier said than done.
4. Jon runs later than even I do.

All in all, I was not disappointed in my efforts. I really didn’t expect to fair well in this kind of event, but I think I held my ground and I should improve with practice. In rushing, I managed to skip over my category when registering, so my time was not listed in the 3-4 results. Unless I’m mistaken, my time of 51’50’’ was good for third place in the 3-4’s (who knows, maybe there were only five of us in the category).

This was my first time trial. For once, I think I did pretty much eveything right. Hmm, go figure, I've been riding by myself, setting a constant pace from ride start to ride finish, for about 13 years. I didn't like the diminishing returns I was seeing each lap: I had hoped to turn in negative splits, but saw the reverse, and my heart rate was higher each lap. Still, my average was above my LT, and I was working hard the whole time. Glad the winds and temps were favorable. Thanks to Jim, for helping me set the aero bars in a better position. Congrats to all of us SH women--we had a good showing today--but especially to Brooke, who is now a state champ!

An interesting race. Tons more people there than last year. Good weather, good crowd. Great job Shari, JoMay and Brooke. It was fun having a group of women there, even if we all rode separate.

This year's State TT went much better for me than last year's. I'm about where I was last July/August. Congratulations to Brooke for her new Ohio State Junior Girls TT Championship title and to Becki for winning the women's 50-55 category.

Perfect day for a time trial. Very little wind. Nice starting temperature. This years course while still rolling was much more suited to me then last years State TT. I dropped 6:30 from last falls time on this course, so it was a good improvement. I thought I had turned in a pretty good time but not really sure where some of these people came from. Overall I was pleased but it leaves room for improvement. My third and final lap was my best because there was a Saturn rider starting his race just as I crossed the start line for the last time. Having someone so close forced me to work harder for that last lap.

Time Trials hurt no matter how much you work on them. I give myself a "good" on effort and a "yes" on need for imporvement.

I managed to adhere to my standard and tested formula; poor fitness, more TT fit fiddling, and a late start (last man out this year!!!). Adding insult to injury I forgot my helmet, and the oversized loaner I scrounged up constantly slid down into my field of vision. Temps and winds were creeping up as the sun rose. I managed just over 17 mins on the first lap, but drooped a little for numbers 2 and 3, though each pass of Dry Creek was faster than the last - testament to the NW wind. I was at least hoping for one of Tym's errantly handed out medals for fleeting moment of glory, but I think the John Deere edged me out. The search for useful form continues..........
